Anthropology Required Courses
Required Courses
Complete three of the following Introductory courses (4 courses/11-12 credits):
Methods Courses
Complete at least one of the following Methods courses (1 course/3 credits). Additional Methods courses may count toward ANTH electives.
Anthropology Electives
Complete an additional 12-15 credit hours of Anthropology (ANTH) electives (depending on Senior Seminar choice) to meet total and upper-division hours for the major (4 courses/12 credits). At least 9 hours must be upper-division (3000+ level) coursework.
Senior Assessment
Complete the Anthropology Graduating Seniors Assessment via Canvas. Seniors will receive an email with more information.
Recommended Courses
Anthropology students interested in pursuing a career in Archaeology are urged to consider completing a minor in Geography and Environmental Studies, or at least taking the following courses:
Historical Survey Courses
Complete two courses from each of the following categories (4 courses/12 credits):
Histories of Europe and the U.S.
Global Histories and Histories of Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East
Upper-Division Global History Courses
Complete two courses from the following list (2 courses/6 credits):
History Electives
Complete 9-12 upper-division (3000+ level) credit hours (depending on Senior Seminar choice) of History electives (3 courses/9 credits).
Double Major Senior Seminar Courses
Complete either the Anthropology Senior Seminar or History Senior Seminar options. Students can select either the ANTH Senior Seminar or HIST Senior Seminar, but must take additional electives in the department not selected to meet total and upper-division hours for both majors.
