MSN Degree Requirements
- 47-49 graduate level credits
- 3.0 or better GPA must be maintained
- Completion of degree requirements within six years, with most students completing in 3 years full time or 4 years part time.

MSN Degree Curriculum
Graduate Core Course Requirements (Required of all MSN Students)
Credits: 13-14
Advanced Practice Nursing Core (Required of all MSN Students)
Credits: 9
Primary Care NP Specialty Focus: Adult/Gero
Adult/Gero NP = 47-48 Total Credits (includes 630 clinical hours)
Primary Care NP Specialty Focus: Family
Family NP = 47-48 Total Credits (includes 630 clinical hours)
Psychiatric Mental Health NP Specialty Focus
PMHNP Option= 48-49 Total Credit Hours (includes 630 clinical hours)
Course Requirements for Prescriptive Authority
Specific courses may differ for the selected specialty but must include Advanced Pathophysiology, Advanced Assessment, and Clinical Pharmacotherapeutics. State requirements differ in various state jurisdictions; currency of coursework and practice hours as an APN may be required.
Note: Courses related to the selected clinical specialty provide the student an opportunity to use empirical, ethical, esthetic, personal, and socio-political knowledge in the clinical setting specific to the student’s chosen advanced practice role.
