WEST 4140 - Unnatural Disasters: An Intersectional Approach to Catastrophe and its Aftermath3 Credits (Minimum) 3 Credits (Maximum)
This course explores how disasters and other catastrophic events are produced and managed, paying particular to their political and economic contexts. Readings will center the role that categories such as race, class, gender, etc. play in disaster and response. Prer., WEST 1010 (formerly WEST 2010). Meets with SOC 4140.
