SOC 4080 - Men and Masculinities3 Credits (Minimum) 3 Credits (Maximum)
This class explores men as gendered beings and understands manhood as a social construct. Provides an overview of theories of manhood and topics including power and patriarchy; race, class and sexuality; men in families; work; violence; health; friendship and intimacy. Approved for Compass Curriculum requirement: Inclusiveness (Global/Diversity). Prer., SOC 3070, Coreq., SOC 3150, or consent of instructor. Meets with WEST 4080.
