Chemistry Minor

A student may complete a minor in chemistry by finishing the following course work with grades of C or better:

CHEM 401 - Inorganic Chemistry I
CHEM 402 - Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory
CHEM 405 - Topics in Chemistry (Some Topics in Chemistry courses may be applied as upper level chemistry electives. Check with the department.)
CHEM 417 - Analytical Chemistry I
CHEM 418 - Analytical Chemistry II (Concurrent registration with CHEM 420 required.)
CHEM 420 - Practical Instrumental Analysis (Concurrent registration with CHEM 418 required.)
CHEM 450 - Biophysical Chemistry (If not taking CHEM 451.)
CHEM 451 - Physical Chemistry I (If not taking CHEM 450.)
CHEM 452 - Physical Chemistry II (Concurrent registration with CHEM 454 required.)
CHEM 454 - Experimental Physical Chemistry (Concurrent registration with CHEM 452 required.)
CHEM 481 - Biochemistry I (If not taken as BIOL 481, or if not taking CHEM 483.)
CHEM 482 - Biochemistry II (If not taken as BIOL 482, or if not taking CHEM 483.)
CHEM 483 - Biochemistry Principles (If not taking CHEM 481/482.)
CHEM 484 - Molecular Biology (If not taken as BIOL 484.)

Note:

Students pursuing a BS in Biology must select courses that are not part of their degree program requirements in order to complete a chemistry minor. Students should familiarize themselves with the prerequisite requirement for these courses.
