Pre-Pharmacy

IMPORTANT: UCCS does not have a pharmacy program. Pre-Pharmacy Prep is not a major or minor but a listing of requisite courses and recommendations needed to be eligible for admission into CU Skaggs School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, CO (UCDAMC). Other schools may have different requirements so students should check admissions requirements for all schools to which they plan on applying.

For more information on the UCCS program, contact the Pre-Health advisor:

Bev Kratzer (719) 255-3745, bkratzer@uccs.edu

Pre-Pharmacy preparation offered at UCCS prepares students for candidacy into professional programs offered at other facilities. Although the program requires only 72 hours of prerequisite course work, a college program leading to a bachelor’s degree generally strengthens a student’s application to the program. Students in the pre-Pharmacy program are advised to choose a major and should plan to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree from UCCS.

NOTE: Completion of requisite coursework does not guarantee acceptance into any professional degree.

Note:

Many courses have prerequisites that fall outside of this list; be sure to check the catalog for course details. Courses should have been taken within 10 years of application to the Pharmacy program. All requisite coursework should be completed with a grade of “C” or better and must be completed in the spring semester prior to matriculation. CLEP or department exam credits are not accepted to fulfill prerequisite course requirements. Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) credit is accepted only if transcript reflects the exact credit earned.
