Continuation of ENGL 4230. Covers development of the “Modern” realistic novel, from beginning of the 20th century through 1945, and examines work of Wharton, Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Dreiser, Wright and others. Prer., ENGL 3000. Meets with ENGL 5240.
